Looking Back: Last Sunday in Blacksburg

Hard to believe the kids and I have been staying with the Grandparents nearly a month now! Hunt came up for his first visit last week, and it was so good to see him. He also brought with him my camera which, due to poor planning, I left with him in Blacksburg. I found these precious pics of my princess taken in our church garden the last Sunday we were in Blacksburg. I wish I'd made more pics because you will seldom find a church with a lovelier garden.

Our last Sunday the kids also sang two songs in the Chinese church. They sang "Jesus Loves Me" in English and a song called "I Lift My Eyes Up" in Chinese. How sweet! We will miss being a part of Blacksburg Chinese Church!

Happiness is Playing the Ipad

How do you spell HAPPINESS? For Archie, it usually involves something with a screen. Grace is almost as eager to play away on the IPAD except when she refuses to take a nap. Then, happiness for her is spelled something like FALLING ASLEEP! How cute!

Budding Artist

I had no clue Grace could draw a person until the other day when she was "writing" a letter to her best friend in Blacksburg. She whipped out this cute little person complete with two eyes, a nose, a mouth, two ears, hair, legs and feet! WOW! She hasn't done it again since. Guess she just needs the proper motivation.

Beach Beauty 2012

I love taking pics of my kiddos at the beach. Grace looks so grown up in her little swim cover dress!

Of course, being with Grandma was one of the best parts. Archie finally overcame some of his fears and waded out into the surf, enjoying the feel of the water splashing on his knees. He didn't even seem to care that much when it knocked him over. He also decided being buried in the sand could be fun!

Who was the man in the Army picture? My dad in 1963. Everyone always says I look just like him.

Happy Third Birthday, Grace!

 Happy Birthday, Grace! Even in the midst of a move, we were able to celebrate the special day (three separate times). My parents came up for a pre-birthday party and her friend party. She was able to invite three friends for the Big Three! She wore her fancy party dress, and she was a perfect birthday princess. I was really proud of the Dora princess cake I made for her even if it was a bit lopsided. My neighbor really saved me by giving me some colored fondant to make the bodice.

Where is Grace starting her third year anyway? At Grandma and Grandpa's! The kid and I are anticipating being here for about a month before we are reunited with Daddy and move up to Maryland to start his new job. Here's wishing happy (and speedy) thesis writing to Hunt!
