Business executive or baby?

Does Archie look all business now or what? Maybe we were taking too long getting the sweet potatoes ready! Sometimes, when he looks this serious, I forget he's a little baby (as crazy as that may sound).

On the other hand, sometimes he just really looks like a baby

For an even greater contrast between my little business executive and my little baby, I'm including the very baby-ish looking shot I snapped right after we brought him home from Thailand (4 weeks). Wouldn't get this fellow mixed up with a CEO, would you?

I love cute adorable baby moments! Please leave a comment and share some of your baby funnies with me. If you feel really adventurous, click on the link to "Our Pictures" on the left hand side, and post your own pictures in my Snapfish group room.

I'll post the results of the feeding poll below the poll questionnaire. Thanks for your participation!

Leaving a Comment: FAQ

I love your feedback! I am also trying to make the blog more interactive through the use of polls (please vote) and website links. Several of you have asked how to make comments. It's easy. Follow these simple steps:

1. Below each blog post you will see the word "comments" and a number. Click on it. It will take you to the comment page.

2. On the left side of the page, you will see a box for comments. Type in your comment.

3. If you are new to commenting, it may ask you to type verification letters. Just type whatever you see in the verification box.

4. Finally, chose an identity and press publish your comment. If you have a Google/Blogger account, you can chose that option. Otherwise, select the Name/URL option. Type in whatever name you'd like to appear by your comment on the post and leave the URL box blank (unless you have a URL). Press "publish your comment" when you are done.

I approve all comments before they are posted to the blog. If you see "Your comment has been saved and will be visible after blog owner approval" at the top of the screen, you know you've done it successfully and I'll be publishing your comment shortly! I can't wait to hear from you!

Pass the eggplant, please!

Notice I said, "Pass the eggplant" not "Pass UP the eggplant." That's right, Folks, Archie LOVES eggplant. I think it's his favorite veggie to date. He must take after his Mama. Eggplant is super popular around here. When taking pictures, the locals say "Eggplant" instead of "Cheese." (The ending of their word for eggplant is similar to our word for cheese, which results in the same nice smile.) He also loves carrots, green beans, zucchini, asparagus, sweet potatoes, apples, bananas and pears. He tolerates peas and pumpkin. Basically, if I feed it to him, he eats it. He hasn't rejected anything yet. Below watch him enjoy his eggplant from his brand new big boy high chair!

I can feed myself. (Just kidding!)

Hunter has been encouraging me to expand the horizons of my blog beyond a collection of Archie pictures to concrete and helpful information. (Although, isn't a picture worth 1000 words?) Sounds like fun, though, so here goes...

I'm always on the quest for the next food to introduce to Archie. I've been adding one new food every four days for awhile now. I think Archie needs more protein so lentils are next on the schedule. Take my poll on what your baby likes best (if you can still remember). Then, leave me a comment with other suggestions. If you've got a baby and you're in need of suggestions, too, check out my favorite website http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/.

Poll Results
OK, I'll admit this isn't the most enlightening poll ever, but it was fun to see what you said.
Babies evidently don't have much consensus on favorite foods because the results were:
13% bananas
13%apples
13%green beans
25%sweet potatoes
13%other vegetables
13%cereals
13%other
I would sure love to know more about the other votes. Maybe Archie would like the other foods, too.

Hanging Out with the College Girls!

Archie already likes hanging out with older women and the attention they shower on him. What's his Mama to do? We had a blast visiting some nursing students in their college dorm one day last week. At their school, 12 girls live together in one room. Two walls are each lined with three sets of bunk beds, surrounding a narrow row of desks in the center. No real closets so the clothes just kind of hang from the bunks. I didn't crop the pics so you can take it all in. You can see that Archie was a real hit. If you count the girls he was photographed with, you'll notice he drew a crowd of at least 16 but I doubt everyone got in on the photo ops! As soon as we entered, their was joyful shouting, "Cute foreign baby in the dorm!" Was Archie upset by the crowd? No way! He says, "I LOVE being the center of attention!"

After his dorm trip, we went to a local restaurant.

There's No Such Thing as a Free Lunch!

Hunter and I believe in teaching Archie the value of hard work. Doesn't he look diligent right now?

Can you believe he can already type? His Grandma, the high school business teacher, has never had a student so young!

Whee! Sliding is Super!

Ready for action

Whee!

All the way down

Mama's so glad the weather's warmed up so Archie can play outside on the playground in front of our apartment and she can make lots of pictures using all natural lighting, which she hasn't been able to do since our last trip to Thailand. I think he likes the slide best. What do you think?

More Playtime

One of my favorite things about Archie is playing with him and watching him play. I remember when he was about 2 months old, we were so pround of him when he first reached out to touch his mobile. Next, I ran and grabbed the video when he shook the rattle I put in his hand. Shortly after, we were amazed he could grab toys on his mobile sucessfully. His next play time development was learning to push a button on a toy that made music. Then, he started grabbing toys laying nearby on the floor. Currently, he'll scoot, roll or maneuver in any way possible to get whatever he wants.
